We can only hope. A lot rests on bush placating his base w/ a conservative justice, if john g. turns out to be liberal it would be real bad for the republican party.
I bet bush et. al did their research with john g, though.

Yes, I'd be surprised if Georgie and Karl didn't thoroughly vett their boy John before appointing him. And John G. is married to a pro-life activist. But they've screwed up before (I'm sure you know the history). Who knows? We can only hope is right.

I've found it... Souter vaguely resembles Johnny Carson. Not head on like Roberts and Sajak, I suppose though... darn... he looks like some TV personality, and I will find him.

I wouldn't get my hopes up. I think the best thing you can hope for is a Sandra Day O'Connor stare decisis Burkean conservative. There's been lots of good stuff published about this beyond the partisan shouting. Check out this week's issue of (wait for it, wait for it) the New Republic.
